Although the American Library Association's "Library Card Sign-Up Month" has officially passed, your library card is better now than ever! Did you know that using your FREE library card is worth more than just books? Our special collections are as easy to check-out as your average library book! Which collections below have you checked out?
If you're a dog lover, or just a lover of books about dogs, head over to Bowman, Handley, or Clarke County library for storytimes this week! We have songs, activities, and some wonderful stories to share about our furry, wet-nosed pals.
It's the return of the fall event for kids, Handley Harvest Hoedown, on Monday October 14th at 4:30PM at Handley Library!
Families can celebrate the season with a puppet show, interactive craft stations, balloon twists from Characters by Chelsea, face painting by Face Paint by Rachel, meet the Chik-fil-a Cow, and the first 100 kids receive a goody bag from Virginia Farm Market with apples and other prizes. The event is free and open to the public.
Fall is here and for some that means pumpkin spice, falling leaves, harvests, and the return of warm sweaters. For others, it means football, basketball, soccer and more!
As we continue our Toy Story celebration of "Library Card Sign-up Month" here at Handley Regional Library System, we will turn towards one of the most beloved toys of the last century, teddy bears!
Storytimes have returned, just in time for our Library Card Sign-up Month! The Toy Story characters are helping us spread the word and are the inspiration for this week's storytime theme, Toy Trunk.
It's been a fantastic summer! I hope everyone had as much fun as your library Youth Service staff and volunteers did. At the end of the season the staff (and puppets!) take a brief break from storytimes as we prepare for the next exciting set of storytime themes. Meanwhile, we welcome all of our pint sized participants to keep heading over to the library each week to enjoy some informal play times with blocks and other activities! While you're there, the library staff will be present to help you select some great books to take home.

World Book Encyclopedia's Early World of Learning is an educational resource perfect for your toddler, preschooler, or early elementary little one. This free digital database is a child’s first encyclopedia, eBook, and introduction to core early concepts.
From crunching and munching caterpillars to fluttering butterlies, we'll enjoy some wonderful stories of beautiful changes this week at Handley Regional Library.
Don't miss Robin Hood Misdirected on July 10th at 3PM at Handley Library. The adaption is from Jack Neary and is given a fresh, funny and exciting spin when the Misdirected Theatre Company fails to show up for a sold-out performance! Attendees will experience many laughs, lots of adventure, and swashbuckling action with the Winchester Little Theatre performance. The program is free and open to the public.
