Looking for a simple craft to extend the joy? Create your own butterfly with a coffee filter, markers, and pipe cleaner. Color a coffee filter with markers then gently spray it with water. The colors will run together and after it dries, you can attach it to a pipe cleaner, shaped like a butterfly body. Hide it in a paper tube and watch it emerge!
Have your butterfly help you with a few songs too!
Caterpillar Chant
A caterpillar looks so small.
It is hardly there at all.
It munches on green leafy treats,
And it gets bigger as it eats.
It eats and eats, 'til pretty soon,
It wraps up tight in a cocoon.
When it wakes up it blinks its eyes
And says, "I'm now a butterfly!"
Five Little Butterflies
Five little butterflies on flowers galore,

Fuzzy wuzzy caterpillar in the garden creeps,
He spins himself a blanket and soon falls fast asleep.

To find he has wings of beauty,
Changed to a butterfly.

I fly around the flowerpots,
