Our teen book spotlight this week is on books that are all about fairy tale retellings!  These are stories that have been inspired by books that are considered to be fairy tales that have been written in the past and are now used as inspiration for newer books.  Some follow the storylines pretty consistently while others completely turn the story on its head with role reversals, different points of view, settings, or even introducing elements such as science fiction and fantasy.  Some of them may be from fairy tales titles that you have heard of before while others may be com

Our teen book spotlight this week is focused on books that are linked together by being superhero inspired!  We have a great selection of fiction and graphic novel titles which include superhero characters and themes; some are one that you may know from the Marvel or DC Universes while others are completely original to that author and story.  Hopefully these will help inspire you to explore if you have superpowers and how would you use them if you could.

Our teen book spotlight this week is all about books that have been nominated for the Virginia Reader’s Choice (VRC) High School award for the 2022-2023 school year!!  The VRC award was started back in the 1980s with the goal being that students across the state choosing what they thought the best book of the year is instead of adults.  Every year, there are 10 YA books nominated for the award by a committee; readers then have a few months to read as many of the 10 as they can and then they will cast their vote for which one they think is the best.  The book with the most vot

Our teen book spotlight this week is all about Possibilities of Change!!!  We are exploring books that are inspirational and explore the idea and concepts of changing ourselves and the world around us; we have an incredible mixture of fiction and nonfiction titles this week which will open our eyes to others and situations around us and will inspire us to make and lead change through our example.

Our teen book spotlight this week is all about Possibilities of Exploration!!!  We are taking a look at stories that feature hobbies, games, and activities that you may be doing right now or may be inspired to explore and try this summer or in the future.  Because of all of the possibilities, there is a little bit of something for everyone--some are more serious than others while we have some fiction and nonfiction as well as others that combine different types of genres.  You may be inspired to try something new and the book you read may be the jumping off point you need.&nb
