Our middle grade book spotlight this week is on books that were published in 2014 and are celebrating their 10th birthday! I do not know what was in the water, air, or universe that year but there were so many amazing titles and authors to come out of that year of publishing that books we read today are still inspired by those groundbreaking works. Many have been adapted into movies and shows we were clamoring to see in the theaters since 2014 and some titles we are still talking…
Our Middle Grade book spotlight this week is focused on books that take place in outer space!! I do not know about you, but there have been times I have wondered what it would be like to live somewhere other than Earth; what would I wear, eat, how do you sleep and travel and there are so many more questions. One of the amazing things about books is we can choose one that actually places us in that scenario without having to leave the comfort of our pajamas and living room! …
Our middle grade book spotlight this week is on books that are filled with suspense and thrills!! Sometimes I think these are the scariest types of books because you have no idea what is going to happen next and your brain prepares for the worst as you turn the page, not knowing what is going to be there waiting for you. If you are looking for a read that is going to keep you on the edge of your seat then you have come to the right place! These books and more can be found by…
Our Middle Grade book spotlight this week is all about Basketball!! We are getting to that time of year, one of craziest sports events which is known as March Madness! Even though it may look a little different this year (kind of like everything else as well), it is still a basketball lover’s dream as it is nonstop action and games. We can start to get into the March Madness mood with some amazing fiction and nonfiction books about and inspired by this American pastime.…
Our teen book spotlight this week is focused on books that feature Jewish characters! Many times, Jewish characters seem limited to just World War II fiction books but that is not the case and we are taking a look at some titles that are anything but that time period. We have a mix of historical and realistic (and some are a little intense--just be warned!) fiction this week and I can promise you that they are amazing!!! These books and more can be found by searching the…
Our Middle Grade book spotlight this week is focused on books that are linked together by being superhero inspired! We have a great selection of fiction and graphic novel titles which include superhero characters and themes; some are one that you may know from the Marvel or DC Universes while others are completely original to that author and story. Hopefully these will help inspire you to explore if you have superpowers and how would you use them if you could. These books and more…

Our middle grade book spotlight this week is on books that feature books with artistic characters!!! When I think about being artistic, it is more than just painting and drawing and we have titles that feature not just those but photography, movie making, and collages to just name a few!! Maybe some of these books will inspire you to explore your inner artist as well; we have an amazing offering of realistic, mystery, and even nonfiction so there is something for everyone.…
Our teen book spotlight this week is all about the 1920s!!! Our titles this week are all based in or about that decade known as the Roaring ‘20s in which we were between two world wars and everyone thought life was good, but it was a time of crime, intrigue, and going against the grain. We have a great mixture of fiction (complete with drama and romance) and nonfiction (you know some true crime is mixed in) and they will not disappoint! These books and more can be found by…
Our middle grade book spotlight this week is all about Science Fiction as we celebrate the unofficial Star Wars holiday of May the Fourth!!! What I love about Science Fiction is that there are so many different types and aspects--Science Fiction is defined as anything that could possibly happen in the future and it does not mean that it has to be in outer space even though that is a common setting. Science Fiction can contain a number of topics from robots and artificial…
