All over the world, Pride celebrations have been postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our own Winchester Pride has been postponed to October 24th (details here). If youâre anything like me, youâre thinking, âWell, Iâm glad weâre being safe, but itâs disappointing having to miss our traditional celebration.â But one of my favorite things about the LGBT community is our ability to make the best of bad situations. Players of all ages and strengths are welcome to come and play.
We gather every week on Saturday mornings to play casual chess games.
Chess at Bowman Library is a volunteer-run program.
Chess sets and space are provided. Instructors are present when their schedule permits.

Thursday, November 10, 2022, the Family History Hunters met in the Benham Room. The topic of conversation centered around the subject of Genealogical brick walls. The program started with a fifteen-minute podcast presented by Katie Corwin of Ancestry.com. She gave several suggestions regarding a researcherâs brick wall and how it can be broken through. I myself found the podcast very interesting and discovered two suggestions that I believe can assist me with my ownâŠ
