Your local library is making it easier than ever to geek! We all know it can be hard to find our people and even harder to keep up with our favorite fandoms on a budget. Now the library is expanding our collections, not just for teens, but for adults too. Keep an eye on our catalog for our ever-expanding collection of games, graphic novels, movies, books, and shows. And keep an ear to the ground for our upcoming programming that was developed with you in mind.
1. Adult Graphic Novels
So, this one is big. We just added a brand new collection of graphic novels specifically designed for adults. From Batman and The Walking Dead to Umbrella Academy and The Wicked + the Divine, we’ve got all the series you’ve been following, along with a great selection of standalones. More titles are coming to our branches all the time, so don’t forget to check back. Check them out here.
2. Tabletop Games
If games are more your speed, we have a few options. We’ve recently added a collection of tabletop games for in-house use at the Bowman Library. We have Settlers of Catan, Munchkin, and Pandemic for longer sessions and some short round games like Mascarade and Incan Gold for when you just have some time to kill.
Come visit the Bowman Library on Wednesday, October 30th from 6 PM to 9 PM for an 18+ Halloween Board Game Night and some spooky new editions to our game menu.
3. Video Games
For more on the games front, check out our new and still expanding video games collection. We’ve got a number of titles for kids, teens, and adults, including mature rated titles, and our collection continues to grow. Games are available for Xbox One, PS4, and Wii, from Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Assassin’s Creed to Stardew Valley, Sea of Thieves, and Kingdom Hearts. Check them out here.
4. TV Shows/Movies
You may already know about our extensive collection of movies and TV shows, but did you know how much great fandom content we have on offer? You can find Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, Supernatural, Star Trek, Sherlock, Star Wars, and plenty from the Marvel and DC universes. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Keep an eye out for new titles coming soon, including Stranger Things and Doctor Who!
5. Fandom Books
And of course we’ve got you covered when it comes to books; from Outlander and Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood), to Welcome to Nightvale and Good Omens. We’ve also got tie-in books for TV and game series like Doctor Who, Stranger Things, and Assassin’s Creed. You can find titles in hard copy, audiobook, and eBook, so play around and find what works for you.
