Fun Had at American Sign Language Workshop

Bowman Library was delighted to host Donna Day from Access Independence as part of Deaf Awareness week for our Top 10 Signs Everyone Should Know Workshop. The attendees had a great time learning about American Sign Language, facial expressions, ASL Grammar, and even playing a game. Participants had fun practicing the signs they learned together and asking questions on how to say different phrases and terms that apply to their everyday life. Donna taught the alphabet, how to ask a question, vocabulary words, colors, everyday phrases and more.

The Bowman Library Adult Services department just added a new collection. We now have board games! We’ve got some old favorites like Chinese Checkers and Scrabble, but we’ve also done our homework to provide you with some of the most acclaimed tabletop games on the market.

Come to the Bowman branch to try out Settlers of Catan or Pandemic, or share some laughs over Munchkin and Apples to Apples. Don’t have a lot of time to kill? That’s okay. We’ve got shorter games like Mascarade and Incan Gold that pack a lot of fun into thirty minutes or less.
