BIOGRAHICAL/HISTORICAL: Founded in 1958, the Optimist Club of Winchester is part of the Optimist International which was founded in 1919 to promote positive community and growth opportunities for young boys. Since it?s founding the club has extended its membership and services to women and girls. The Winchester club is one of 3,200 clubs and boasts a membership of over 101,000 internationally. Optimist Club of Winchester continues as an active organization today, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2008.
