SCOPE AND CONTENT: The Historic American Buildings Survey Collection is comprised of surveys of buildings and homes in the Winchester-Frederick County, Virginia area. Some sites also have blueprints.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: The Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) is a federal preservation program begun in 1933 to document the architecture of historic buildings in the United States. The program operates through a public-private alliance administered by the National Parks Service, the Library of Congress, and the American Institute of Architects.
