DATE:  1828-1871

SCOPE AND CONTENT:  The Nicholas Hooper Records consists of a single account book kept by Hooper between 1828 and 1835. The account book records transactions for Hooper’s general merchandise business. There are also entries for tree plantings in 1871 which may have been added by Hooper’s son.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Nicholas Hooper ran a general merchandise business in Frederick County. He married Jane I. Harris on October 14, 1820.
