SCOPE AND CONTENT: Horsey and Atwell were clothiers and haberdashers in Winchester and Woodstock, VA. The store prided itself on being honest about its products and pricing and having a reputation as an “up-to-date” clothing store. The collection contains business records, to include a cash book (1897-1899), an account book (1894-1906), business register (1885-1901), and a record of credit sales (Jan. – Oct. 1905).

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Horsey an Atwell Clothiers and Haberdashers was located at 130 W.Main St., Winchester, Va. from 1894-1907.
