Program Description

Event Details

The Winchester Regional Airport Authority and Handley Regional Library System announced a new partnership that will create a new monthly story time at the airport for youths. The first event is scheduled for Friday, January 13th at 10:30 AM and will be held at the main airport terminal building located at 491 Airport Road, Winchester, VA 22602.

“This partnership fits nicely with our desire to connect with our community in new and meaningful ways,” said Winchester Regional Airport Authority Chairman Bill Pifer. “This brings together two institutional anchors that will expose the next generation to aviation by way of their local airport, some for the very first time,” he continued. According to Executive Director Nick Sabo, airports across the nation have implemented similar programs which served as the inspiration and model for this collaboration. Youth Services Division Head Donna Hughes added, “We were thrilled to be approached about the idea and look forward to bringing our program to the airport. The new venue will capture the imagination of our youth and give us an opportunity to inform area residents about the resources available through our robust system of libraries.”
