Winchester, VA (March 29, 2021) – Handley Regional Library System announces the following weekly updates and programs to the community:

“Expect the Unexpected” Friends Used Book Sale Announced April 12-17 at Bowman Library

The Friends of the Handley Regional Library System is taking shopping reservations for their upcoming used book sale.  This book sale has several new safety adjustments due to COVID-19.  Twenty shoppers will be allowed to access the sale at a time and will need to make an appointment to shop with a 1-hour time limit (following the library system’s adjusted public hours) by emailing friends@handleyregional.org.  Book prices will range from $1-$2 and restocking will occur as space becomes available.  Books will be in boxes around the room for shoppers to sort and pick their own selection.  Proceeds from the sale benefit library programs and services at all 3 libraries.  More information is available at https://www.handleyregional.org/support-the-library/friends/book-sale

Adults Can See Upcoming Virtual Programs with New Online Resource

We’ve launched a new webpage for adults to see our list of virtual programs at www.handleyregional.org/adultevents.  From author talks, gardening programs, technology workshops, business topics, and musical performances - there’s something for everyone 18+. All programs are free and open to the public.  Unless noted otherwise, our programs will be on our Facebook page or Zoom.  Registration may be required.  Check the page for upcoming programs. 

Did you know you can borrow video games at your local library?

Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Wii video games are available for patrons to check out in person from the Bowman Library in Stephens City, Handley Library in Winchester, or through reservation online to pick up from the library location of their choice.  Clarke County Library patrons can reserve a game online and have it delivered to the library.
