Database Spotlight: "Gale in Context- Elementary"

It's a New Year, and a perfectly good new time to learn about the Handley Regional Library System Digital Library! We are kicking off 2021 with a monthly series called "Database Spotlights" where we will highlight one of our databases, specifically focusing on youth and families. Do you want support when it comes to Homework Help? Are you looking to build your research skills? Let us share the wonders of our Digital Library with you and your family! Learn about some of our online databases that you can access for free with your library card.

New to our Digital Library, "Gale in Context: Elementary", is a bright, visually friendly database that is geared toward students in Grades K-5. This database is free to access in order for students to build their research skills and encourage their sense of wonder in the world. With a home page that is organized by Topics, News, Pictures, and Videos, users are able to search the site based on what they want or need. Resources are cited for the user and allow you to take notes and highlight articles along the way of researching. More advance search options are available, too. 

 

Educators can benefit from this public library database by taking advantage of the lesson plans that are created, while integrating content into their Google Classroom. This is perfect for hybrid or distance learning classrooms! Elementary teachers will enjoy the easy components of "Gale in Context: Elementary" that students and teachers alike will explore.
