Natsu Con is at Bowman Library on July 29^th from 1PM-7PM. The teen event is sponsored by the Teen Advisory Board at Bowman Library and is free and open to the public. Focused on anime and comic characters, attendees will hear from special speakers who will focus on developing anime characters, Nick Coleman with a talk about how super heroes have issues too, an artist alley, character panels, dance presentations, cosplay contents, Japanese snacks, and more. The day ends with a drawing workshop by cartoonist Paul Merklein of Wisconsin.

We are excited to announce a “Stranger Things” themed escape room for teens on July 19^th at Handley Library at 6PM. Teens will solve clues, follow the story, and work together to escape before time runs out. Registration and more information is at www.handleyregional.org. The program is free

     What do poetry, free, teens, finalists, the Winchester Book Gallery, deadlines, and the numbers, 1, 2, 5, and 500 all have in common? They all have to do with 1455's 1st Summer Literary Festival!

Our video game collections has expanded to Handley Library!

Previously games were only physically available at Bowman Library, but the collection has expanded due to community interest. Popular Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Wii video games are included. You can also select games online to pick up from the library location of you choice in Berryville, Winchester, and Stephens City.

Welcome Middle and High School writers. Let's Camp-Out at the Library!

We celebrate July as Writing Month at Bowman Library by setting up camp, getting out the composition supplies and writing. It is a time to relax and write our best stuff yet. Short stories, novels, poems, comic strips are all welcome as we sit around camp and inspire one another.

Handley Regional Library System announces former freestyle Frisbee champion, Gary Auerbach, is coming for a special performance at Handley Library on June 10^th at 2PM. The performance is ideal for kids and teens, and is free and open the public. The Frisbee Guy will amaze the audience with his tricks, stories, and other interactive surprises. The performance is part of the library system’s summer reading for kids, teens, and families, Valley Reads:  It’s Showtime at Your Library.

The Handley Regional Library System is planning a fantastic summer reading program entitled, “It’s Showtime At Your Library” and the teens are getting into the action!

Because of the performance-oriented theme, members of our Teen Advisory Board will be hosting a Teen Music Jam for any interested young musicians in the area.

The latest edition Teen Times, presented by the HRL Teen Advisory Boards, is now published and being distributed.
