What to Read Next for Teens!

With summer finally here, you may be thinking about the books you’re finally going to have the time to read.

If you are looking for a new book, than we have a new display that could help you out. We have recently added

our book suggestion lists for teens and young adults at the Bowman Library!  Let’s say you’ve read The Hunger

Games three times already and are looking for something different. But you also want something that has a similar

aesthetic. We actually have a list made for just this scenario!

Suggestion Example     These lists are organized by genre or a specific series that encompasses a genre. But as

we all know, you can only know so much about a book by its cover, so we’ve taken care of

that. On the back of each book cover image, the author and a summary of the book are listed.

If it has been adapted to film than we include that as well as the top billed cast, if it is part of a

book series, and if the book has won any major awards.

Our current list of book lists are:

  • Did you enjoy the Hunger Games? The odds are in your favor you’ll enjoy these too
  • Books by authors you already love but probably haven’t read yet
  • Fiction books about concepts that are not fictional at all
  • Banned Books
  • Looking for a Thrilling tale? One of these may do the trick
  • Books I didn’t know were going to change my life when I picked them up
  • If you loved Harry Potter, you may want to ‘apparate’ into one of these novels too!
  • Maybe these books are considered ‘classics’ for a reason…
  • If you loved being transported to ‘a long time ago in a galaxy far far away,’ you just may love these too
  • Take a step into history through these novels

Suggestion Envelope Do you not see a genre list that you’re interested in? We are going to be updating and

editing these list consistently as well as adding a few more categories entirely, so if you

would like to see something added, write it down and let us know! There is an envelope

posted where you can provide your thoughts and suggestions. We also want to know if you

have an all-time favorite book, the characters you love, if there has ever been a book that

really impacted you, or anything else you would like us to know!
