SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection contains biographical materials concerning Jonathan Noyalas, as well as a number of his articles about events and people in the Civil War. The collection also includes his master’s thesis, about Gen. Robert Milroy.
BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Jonathan A. Noyalas is the director of the McCormick Civil War Institute at Shenandoah University. He is an expert in Civil War history and the history of the Shenandoah Valley. He has authored and edited a number of books and more than 100 articles in this field, and is also the editor of the Journal of the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War Era. He received his B.S. from Shenandoah University and his M.A. from Virginia Tech.
