SCOPE AND CONTENT:  The David W. Lupton Collection is made up of various Lupton family Bible records and issues of The Luptonian, a genealogical publication on the Lupton family, which covers the years 1974 to 1992, and was published bi-annually. The collection also contains biographical materials.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: David W. (Walker) Lupton was born on October 12, 1934, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Hugh S. Lupton Jr. and Mildred B. Hathaway Lupton. His father, Hugh S Lupton, was born December 14, 1895 in Frederick County, VA.   He lived at Northwood until 1922 when he returned to Wisconsin for business reasons.


David Lupton married twice, first to Judith Larson (1955-1971). They had two children: Edward Hugh and Caroline Kimberley Lupton. Their marriage ended in divorced. The second marriage was to Dorothy R.(Roberta) Ruland (Haddad).They had no issue. Dorothy R. H. Lupton was a musician and library assistant who held an M.Ed. in Music Education. David was a librarian at the University of Colorado with degrees in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin, an M.S. in Entomology, and an M.S. in Library Science from the University of Miami. During his life he worked for several university libraries as a project assistant, librarian, teaching assistant, and professor. He resided with his wife in Fort Collins, Colorado. David W. Lupton was the editor of The Luptonian.
