Biographical/Historical: Mary Frye Barley was born on June 18, 1888 in Boyle County, KY. She was the daughter of Arch and Frances Moore Spears Frye. She married Carl Clinton Barley on July 18, 1906. They had two daughters, Mary and Frances. Barley lived a greater part of her life in California, where she was active in various historical organizations, serving in some as an officer.
