Important Announcement: Bowman Library Renovations

Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Let's Rock!

Join us for the this 4th Annual Event to meet special authors and illustrators, including:

  • KEVIN HENKES with "Lilly" from "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse",
  • KWAME ALEXANDER from "Crossover",
  • BOB SHEA with "Unicorn" from "Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great" and with "Dinosaur" from "Dinosaur vs. Bedtime",
  • SCOTT MAGOON from "Rescue and Jessica"

as they parade down to the streets in front of the library as we celebrate our love of reading. Enjoy live music from Repeatable Radio and DJ Services, get free signed books and cupcakes, have your face painted by Face Paint with Rachel, pet a goat (because the goats don't think Unicorn is pretty great) from Wilson's Wild Animal Park, and more! In partnership with the Shenandoah University Children's Literature Conference: "For the Love of An Author". Special thanks to the Claude Moore Foundation and the Friends of Handley Regional Library System.
