Important Announcement: Bowman Library Renovations

Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Virginia Wildlife Care--All Together Now!

Event Details

We are partnering with Virginia Wildlife Care to support their good work with local wildlife. We are All Together Now to meet some wildlife ambassadors that have stories to tell.

You may be able to see Tiva, the groundhog; Tipsy the eastern gray squirrel, Rocket the southern flying squirrel and Noggin the chipmunk (who is very very shy). 

Please bring a gift for them when you come to the program. Here are some of the things they can use.

  • Paper towels
  • Tissues (we use these to potty baby mammals)
  • Fleece or hospital-style baby blankets
  • Gift cards to grocery stores (for wildlife foods) or Costco
  • Gift cards to pet stores (for supplies)
  • Gift cards from Fox Valley Animal Nutrition
  • Gift cards from Chris’ Squirrels and More
  • Hard nuts (UNSALTED) in shells (walnuts, pecans, almonds and hazelnuts)
  • Dry roasted peanuts in shells (unsalted - Costco or Rural King have best ones)
  • ZuPreem Primate Dry 
  • Water bottles/crocks/non-tip feeding bowls
  • Bales of clean straw
  • Bags of Equine Pine Pellets
