Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Join real life friends Raina Telgemeier and Ben Hatke for a light hearted conversation about comics, travel and life!

Raina is the author and illustrator of the graphic novels Smile, Drama, Sisters, Ghosts, and Guts, all #1 New York Times bestsellers. Her accolades include six Eisner Awards, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor, a Stonewall Honor, and many Best-of and Notables lists.

Ben Hatke is the author and illustrator of over a dozen books including the #1 New York Times bestselling Zita the Spacegirl trilogy, the Eisner award winning Little Robot, and the picture books Julia’s House for Lost Creatures and Nobody Likes a Goblin. Ben recently returned from circumnavigating the earth, traveling eastward for 55 days, and with minimal air travel, crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean, Caspian, and Yellow Seas, and journeying through twelve countries until he returned, on foot, to his house from the other direction. 

-Registration for this event is full!

-We have a limited capacity and will only be able to accomodate patrons with reservations.

-Check in for the event will begin at 6pm on Oct 22 in the rotunda at Handley Library (just beyond the entrance). Each participant will receive a sticker- this is your "ticket"!

-Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30pm and only patrons with stickers will be allowed to enter.

-Event check in will move to the lower level by the auditorium at 6:30pm.

-Kindly make sure you are in your seat by 7pm! 

-Winchester Book Gallery will be on hand selling Raina and Ben's books for signing.
