CHARACTER PANEL (registration required)
A character panel is led by a moderator who asks insightful questions of the panelists. Panelists/characters take turns answering the questions from their character's perspective. In addition to our teen panelists, this year, we will have a professional panelist who has been cosplaying as Blade for many years. Audience members also have time to engage with the panelists.
Complete the pre-registration questions below to be a panelist on the character panel.
COSPLAY CONTEST
A Cosplay contest requires you to dress in costume, individually enter the stage and pause, turn around, and pose for all to see. We will have two categories this year: "Closet Cosplay" in which you make your entire costume, and "Purchased." There is no requirement for public speaking, but you may request to speak if you wish to tell us about your character or how you made your costume, did your makeup, etc. Use this link to sign up for the *Cosplay contest.
*Cosplay guidelines:
Because of the family nature of our library, all cosplay outfits should be family friendly. Library staff reserves the right to request alterations, clothing changes, or removal of a prop/weapon.
Permitted Cosplay Weapons:
Staves, wooden swords, rubber model firearms (like the red/blue training ones easily identified as props)
Fake weapons if they are safe and easily identified as fake
Prop weapons less than 6'6"
Bows if not strung with authentic or taut bowstring
Weapon Restrictions:
No Metal Weapons of any kind
No Projectile Weapons of any kind with the exception of non-functional nerf or water guns.
No Compound Bows - authentic arrows are not permitted (they're projectiles)
No "Paddles"
No Nunchaku
No Explosives or Chemicals
