Important Announcement: Bowman Library Renovations

Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Katherine Collins will present the many different source options a researcher may go through to find their family crest.  Many of these sources are free and available through the library!  She will guide the participants by explaining where they can start in their research and where they can turn to next when wanting to verify their coat of arms.   

Katherine Collins has graduate degrees in Library and Information Science and Counseling Psychology.  She has over 20 years of experience as a college instructor, researcher, archivist, historian, and regional supervisor.  She has taught workshops at the state and national level.  She has proven her own armigers and is a member of many lineage societies including the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and Associated Daughters of Early American Witches.
