Heimat Quartet

Second of Three Chamber Music Recitals

Saturday, February 22, 2:00 p.m. Barns of Rose Hill, Berryville

Patrick Shaughnessy, violin Aubrey Holmes, violin Ivan Mendoza, viola Brendon Phelps, cello

In partnership with the Friends of HRL and the Handley Regional Library System, the Heimat Quartet will be presenting the second in a series of chamber music recitals. Each recital will showcase repertoire from the quartet’s 2019-2020 performance season. This month’s recital will include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15 in D minor. This is the second in his Quartets dedicated to Haydn and believed to have been completed in 1783. The Heimat Quartet will also perform String Quartet No. 2 in A minor written by Felix Mendelssohn in 1827 when he was just 18 years old. All concerts will be off ered free of charge. The Heimat Quartet was founded during the fall of 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts. All avid chamber musicians, each player brings a wide array of experience and renewed energy to both the music and the group. The members of the Heimat Quartet live in Winchester, where they currently serve as quartet-in-residence at Shenandoah Conservatory.                                                                              Third Recital is Saturday, April 25 - Bowman Library
