Important Announcement: Bowman Library Renovations

Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Donation Drop Off at Clarke County Library

Please note you are looking at an event that has already happened.

Event Details

Volunteers will be on hand to collect your gently used books (in good, clean condition), DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks on CD and electronic games in the Clarke County Library parking lot. Please circle around the building "drive through" to drop your donations in the back of the library. Also, please note that the Big Flea will be going on in Berryville and Main Street could be quite busy. To avoid the crowds, enter Main Street from Rt.7 by the Audley Farm entrance and access Chalmers Court from there.

Please be aware we will NOT be accepting:

-Yellowed, musty or damaged items

-Magazines

-Yearbooks

-Textbooks

-Dictionaries

-Encyclopedias

-Computer science, medicine & technology books more than five years old

-Books that have broken spines, missing pages or covers

-Books that are stained or have mold, mildew, pet stains, smoke damage, insect or rodent damage (These can contaminate other books and present health hazards)

-VHS Tapes, Cassette Tapes, or Records

Our space is limited, and we have hard working volunteers-please help us by leaving these items out of your donation boxes!
