Join the Friends of HRLS as we close out our 2025/26 season! Enjoy light refreshments, literary door prizes, and a celebration of all things books. The winner of our Handley Library Stained Glass Raffle will be announced. Plus, we’ll honor our Volunteer of the Year and award the Barbara Dickinson Scholarship to a HRLS staff member pursuing library science. Special guest Sarah Tollok—author of Bookstories and the upcoming This Bookish Life—will explore the fascinating world of books about books. Join the fun and bring your favorite book about books! Winchester Book Gallery will be on hand selling Sarah's book and other bookish selections.

Sarah Tollok is a multi-genre writer and reader from the Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where she lives with her husband and two sons. Sarah has had the honor of having her work featured in five print anthologies, all with independent presses. Her debut novel, Bookstories, published in 2024 through Balance of Seven Press, is set in publishing houses, libraries, and bookstores. When she’s not writing, Sarah volunteers at the library at ARE’s RISE Center in Winchester, VA. With her next project, This Bookish Life, Sarah plans to continue to celebrate the efforts of those that bring books into the world. You can read more about her work at SarahTollok.com.
