Youth Winter Reading Challenge: Read With Benny

Posted on:

January is the month to “Read With Benny” in the 2026 Winter Reading Challenge. Benny the Bean is the mascot for the Beanstack app, and this month he is hoping that lots of readers join him in enjoying what the library has to offer.

Families with kids ages 0 to 12 are invited to register for the challenge through the Beanstack app. Log your reading and complete activities to fill up your bingo card. Activities include checking out a book with a green cover, trying out an ebook or audiobook on Hoopla or Libby, or attending any of our fun programs.

Besides collecting virtual badges in the app, you can also earn brag tags, a goody bag, and a free book when you have completed your card. There’s also a scavenger hunt at the Handley branch –- try to find all the Benny badges hidden on the second floor.

Read with Benny ends on January 31st, but you can read with us all year long by adding the “Read It Your Way 2026” challenge on your Beanstack account.
