  • Baby animals are everywhere this time of year! Here is a song about a bluebird family, written by Jean Warren, and it goes nicely to the tune, “Up on the Housetop.” Use it to sing while you look for birds in the area. You can switch out the colors for the birds you see. TWO LITTLE BLUE BIRDS Two little blue birds Up in a tree Built a nest For all to see. Along came the babies, One, two, three. Two Little Blue Birds

(Sung To: Up on the Housetop)

Two little blue birds
Up in a tree
Built a nest
For all to see.

Along came the babies,
One, two, three.
Now they're all
A happy family!

Animal Baby Names

(Sung to: If You're Happy and You Know It)

There are mamas and babies on the farm,
There are mamas and babies on the farm.
I see the mama horse
With a foal near by, of course.
There are mamas and babies on the farm.

There are mamas and babies on the farm,
There are mamas and babies on the farm.
There's the mama cow
And the calf is by her now.
There are mamas and babies on the farm.

Three Little Kittens

The three little kittens
They lost their mittens,
And they began to cry,
Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear
Our mittens we have lost
What? Lost your mittens,
You naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie.
Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.
We shall have no pie.

Five Little Ducks
Five little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
But only four little ducks came back.
Count down to 4, 3, 2, 1...

Sad mother duck went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said, "Quack, quack, quack, quack"
And all of five little ducks came back

Read those books and earn those badges all week long and I’ll see you next week for a new theme.
