Bowman Library is OPEN, but the ENTIRE Adult Wing is CLOSED for new carpet installation January 12–23.

During this time, some services will be unavailable or limited.

Opening Week Stats

We reopened our buildings to the public with limited services and adjusted hours and building occupancy on July 8, 2020.  The stats below represent community usage from July 8-11 at all three library locations – Bowman Library, Clarke County Library, and Handley Library.

  • 1,500+ In-Person visits from library patrons
  • 8,320 Checkouts of physical materials (books, Launch Pads, Wifi hotspots, DVDs, etc.)
  • 52 New library cards were issued

Additionally, the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives (located at Handley Library) reported the following:

  • 20 Visitors with 10 confirmed research appointments
  • Notable research project from a patron visiting from Reston included the use of manuscripts and photographs for a magazine article she is writing about the anniversary of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
