Let's Go Fly a Kite Storytime!

Are you ready to read this week? We’re going to go fly some kites!

At the end of the week, we’ll even have a special program all about Mary Poppins. Head to the Bowman Library between Saturday April 17 and the 24th to pick up your activity kit, including a kite you can fly yourself! Then watch our YouTube program at 11am on Saturday for a Mary Poppins story and more!

If you click on the search bar above and type in the tag: #flyakite, you’ll find a lot of fun books to share, like the ones below.

Don't forget to download a coloring page with a song to share.

Five Little Kites

One little kite in the sky so blue,
Along came another, then there were two.
Two little kites flying high above me;
Along came another, then there were three.
Three little kites, just watch them soar,
Along came another, then there were four.
Four little kites, so high and alive
Along came another, then there were five.
Five little kites dancing across the sky,
What a sight to see, way up so high!

My Kite (Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
See my kite up in the sky
Flying past you, oh so high
With the wind, it moves so fast
Watch the clouds, moving past
See my kite up in the sky
Flying past you, oh so high!

I'm a Little Kite
(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)
I'm a little kite up in the sky.
See me flying, oh, so high.
When the wind begins to blow and blow,
I twirl and swirl, just watch me go.

Have a lot of fun this week counting and flying kites and we’ll see you next week for a new theme!
