About the Presenter

Allyson Ponn is the Education and Program Support Specialist for the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District (LFSWCD). Growing up in Shenandoah Valley, Allyson has always had a strong connection to food. She graduated from James Madison University in 2015 with a degree in Integrated Science and Technology, concentrating in Environmental Science and Agriculture. After graduation, she served with AmeriCorps in rural Arkansas for two years. During her time of service, Allyson worked with elementary school children to teach them science through school gardens. This experience is how she connected with LFSWCD, where she started working shortly after relocating back home to Strasburg.
