It's Showtime with Drama Storytime!

Acting it OutCalling all drama kings and queens! We're acting out a bit this week as we celebrate our summer reading theme, "It's Showtime", with drama!

All week we'll have some fun with books and activities at all three library branches for your budding dramatic actor. The best part is that every story read during storytime counts toward your summer reading goals!

If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so now by clicking here or downloading the Beanstack App on your smartphone.

Let's Pretend

I am a robot --beep! beep! beep!
(Walk stiff like a robot.)
I am a clown with floppy feet.
(Wiggle your feet.)
I am a monster with big yellow eyes.
(Circle eyes with fingers.)
I am a bird that flies and flies.
(Flap your arms.)
I am the sun,
(Circle head with arms.)
I am the rain.
(Wiggle fingers above head.)
Then turn around –
(Turn around in place.)
And I'm me again! (Point to self.)

If You’re Standing on a Stage
If you’re standing on a stage make some music,
(pretend to play an instrument)
If you’re standing on a stage make some music,
If you’re standing on a stage,
You don’t have to act your age,
If you’re standing on a stage make some music,

If you’re dancing on the stage twirl around…
If you’re singing on the stage, sing “Tra-La!”…
If you’re acting on a stage take a bow…
If you’re standing on a stage act outrageous!...

This Old Man
(How many can you act out?)
This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb;
With a knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
Two… on my shoe,
Three… on my knee
Four… on my door,
Five… on my hive
Six… on my sticks,
Seven… up in heaven
Eight… on my gate,
Nine… on my spine
Ten… once again

I’m a Little Tea Pot
I'm a little teapot,
Short and stout,
Here is my handle
Here is my spout
When I get all steamed up,
Hear me shout,
Tip me over and pour me out!
