Conversation Partners Helps You Practice Another Language

We have a unique program called Conversation Partners that happens the third Thursday of the month, starting on September 19th at 5:30PM at Bowman Library. The free program will pair up anyone who wants to practice speaking another language in everyday conversation with a native speaker. The library system can currently support Spanish; however they are seeking additional language volunteers. For more information, contact Mandy Foote at (540) 869-9000 ext. 210 or email afoote@handleyregional.org, or show up on September 19th at Bowman Library.

“This program will help us not only support the patrons in community who are learning another language or want to practice their language skills, but create a pathway to literacy and the many language resources we have to offer,” says John Huddy, Director of Handley Regional Library System. “Attendees can practice language skills in a casual and judgement-free environment. In addition to Conversation Partners, we have a fantastic resource called Mango Languages where people can learn over 70 languages through online tutorials. As always, these resources are free and open to the public.”
