American Ancestors: A New Database Offering

Posted on:

The Stewart Bell Jr. Archives is happy to announce a new database to help family researchers: American Ancestors.  From the New England Genealogical Society, this search engine provides access to 1.4 billion+ searchable records from the US and around the world.  Our membership also allows patrons to have access to the American Ancestors magazine and the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, two of genealogy’s leading print publications.

So how can you start using the database?  Great question!  The database is available on any public computer within the library system.  From our Local History & Genealogy page, patrons can find it under Genealogy & History Databases (or simply click here).  Of course, patrons are welcome to come to the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives to do their research in our reading room where staff can assist with any questions.  And while you are there, check out all the other genealogical research options the Archives can provide.
