Important Announcement: Bowman Library Renovations

Bowman Library will be installing new carpeting from January 12–23. During this time, some services will be limited:

  • Printing will be limited
  • Only laptop computers will be available
  • Study rooms will be unavailable
  • Access to many adult materials will be limited
  • Faxing and scanning will be unavailable

These services will still be available at both Handley Library and Clarke County branches.

Escape the Library

Event Details

'Dewey' know the ways of the library? Think you can solve our bookish riddles to escape? Teams of 4-8 people will compete to finish the same library-themed escape room in the least amount of time in celebration of National Library Week. (Time limit is 30 minutes).

Here is how it works:

  1. Form a team of 4-8 members.
  2. Create a team name.
  3. Registration opens on March 1st. You can register online, in person, or by phone at 540-662-9041 ext. 16 to register with a staff person. Space is limited to 8 teams so register early.
  4. Only one person needs to make the reservation for your team.
  5.  Please sign in at least 15 minutes prior to your event session time to get any last minute instructions.
  6. If you need to cancel your registration, please contact us to allow space for other teams from the waiting list.
