SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection contains art prints created by Irmengard Lewis of historic sites in the Shenandoah Valley.
BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Irmengard Lewis was born December 25, 1928 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1948, she married James Lewis and moved to Ohio, and then to Virginia in 1964. She had a career as an artist and was known for her renditions of historic sites and local landmarks in the Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia. She died in Winchester, Virginia on October 25, 2014.
