New Website Announced

New Website Makes it Easier for Library Patrons to Access Books, Materials, Digital Media, and Programs

We are excited about our new website! The website was intentionally designed to enhance the patron experience – making it easier than ever to access information about upcoming programs, search the library catalog for materials, discover community resources, explore the 24/7 digital library, and more.  Now optimized for mobile users, the site also continues the library system’s rebranding – including the recently released new logo - which focuses on the future of how they serve the residents of Winchester, Clarke County, and Frederick County.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with our new website,” says John Huddy, Director of Handley Regional Library System.  “Our goal is to be a resource to the communities we serve by creating connections to information and entertainment.  The new website supports this better and is packed with tools and features to make it easier for our patrons.  You can find your next great read, get recommendations, register for programs by topic and age group, see what’s new, and learn how you can support your library through the Friends of the Handley Regional Library –plus more.”

Huddy explains the advantage of the newly designed digital library.

“We know patrons need access to our materials beyond the walls of our three physical libraries. We’ve spent a lot of time and energy revamping our digital library so you can download an eBook, access critical research topics and materials, stream music, learn a language, explore the past with digital archives  - the list goes on. It’s a great resource for on-demand access to information and services.”

Handley Regional Library System reports they consulted a library marketing agency, Library Market, during this process.

“Library Market is a web design firm founded by librarians and professionals from the library world, so their expertise was vital to us through this project,” adds Matt Swain, Public Relations and Technology Coordinator for Handley Regional Library System. “We were intentional in this entire process, conducting surveys, listening to our patrons, learning together as a staff,  and also looking at ways we can better position our system for the future of how libraries operate and meet the needs of the community.”

“Library Market works exclusively with libraries, because we know the contributions they make to communities every day, and the team at Handley Regional Library System exemplifies that commitment to community service. Their dedication to expanding access to library resources for their communities was apparent in every phase of the project process. It was a pleasure to provide Handley Regional Library System with tools to extend their excellent community engagement to their digital presence as well,” says Ben Bizzle, CEO at Library Market.
