LAND OF THE FUTURE FOR MIDDLE GRADES AND TEENS

It's here! The final week of Summer Reading and we're dreaming of wonderful things in the Land of the Future!

In our final week of summer reading, we'll focus on the Land of the Future Activity Badge and all of the virtual programs that accompany this. There are only days left in the challenge, but you can still jump in and do a few activities, read and earn some tickets. Links are at the bottom of this post to show you how. Join, log, and then be ready to celebrate on Saturday at 11:00 on the HRLS Facebook page

You will find these activities on Beanstack when you log into your account and click on the tab for Activity Badges.

If you have a summer reading child in elementary or middle school, or are a teen reader who is logging minutes read, scroll until you see this picture:

As the tutorials above will show you, logging your reading earns you badges and tickets. You can use these tickets for drawings for prizes. Additionally, you can do activities to earn more badges and tickets, and more chances to win.

All branches are now open, with some restrictions. Here are the details.

If you watch a virtual program with a story included, it counts towards your logged reading and activity badges. Virtual programs have their own activity badges, so when you go online to watch, look for the corresponding badge and activity through Beanstack. The calendar will give you a hint for the badges to look for.

Each week we'll highlight an activity badge and activities, but keep in mind, you can work on these badges at any time during our summer reading challenge.

Have fun this week in the Land of the Future!
