History Through Preservation

Posted on:

Winchester is a historic town, filled with old buildings and lots of stories.  It is important to preserve these sites for future generations, and historic preservation efforts play a vital role in continuing to tell the stories of the past.

Join us for Sandra Bosley’s presentation History Through Preservation: Saving Buildings and Sharing Stories.  Sandra will explain how early preservation efforts began in the city over 50 years ago with the loss of the second oldest home in town, the Conrad House (see photo).  She will highlight some of the more well-known buildings as well as the more obscure ones.  The presentation will also feature artwork by local artist Loretta Johnson.

This event will take place in the Robinson Auditorium of the Handley Library.  Registration is not required.  If you have any questions, please contact the Archives at (540) 662-9041, Ext. 17
