Grammy Nominated Kid Pan Alley to Offer Songwriting Workshop and Performance for Kids

We are sooo excited to announce that Parent’s Choice Award Winner and Grammy Nominated Kid Pan Alley will be offering a free songwriting workshop along with several performances for kids as part of the library system’s Valley Reads Summer Reading Program. Led by founder Paul Reisler, Kid Pan Alley will offer a song-writing workshop on June 24th at 6PM with a performance from workshop participants on June 25th at 11AM - both at Bowman Library in Stephens City. Registration is required and is now open for kids at www.handleyregional.org/kids. Separate from the workshop, Reisler and his group will perform at Clarke County Library at 10:30AM and at Handley Library at 2PM on June 24th. All programs are free and open to the public.

Kid Pan Alley’s mission is to inspire and empower children to work together to become creators of their own music and to rekindle creativity as a core value in education through the group songwriting process.

“This interactive performance is going to be fantastic,” says John Huddy, Director of Handley Regional Library System. “Our theme for this year’s summer reading is ‘It’s Showtime at Your Library’ and the workshop, assembly, and performance is a great way for kids and their families to be part of the show.”

Kid Pan Alley’s songs have been recorded by artists including Amy Grant, Sissy Spacek, Delbert McClinton, Cracker, Kix Brooks, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Corey Harris, Suzy Bogguss and many others. They’ve won numerous awards including Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, a WAMMIE, and have received a Grammy nomination for one of their recordings.
