FRIENDS OF HANDLEY REGIONAL LIBRARY ANNOUNCE ANNUAL MEETING WITH CHRISTINE A. PATRICK

Handley Regional Library System and the Friends of the Handley Regional Library announce their annual meeting with special speaker Christine A. Patrick, owner of independent book store, Winchester Book Gallery.  Members of the Friends and the general public may attend the meeting on May 15th at 7PM at Handley Library in Winchester for free.  Christine will share her thoughts on community support that libraries and booksellers offer while meeting the primary goal of literacy.  The meeting is also designed to celebrate the successful year of used book sales and other initiatives designed by the Friends that help fund programs and services at all 3 libraries within Handley Regional Library System.

“The Friends of the Handley Regional Library began in 1977 and initially helped staff programs and raise funds for the children’s department as the years went on,” adds Barbara Dickinson, Executive Director of Friends of the Handley Regional Library.  “Today, through fundraising and development, we help support programs, departments, services, and new materials at all 3 library locations as we continue the mission of the system, encourage reading and the use of the library, increase community involvement within the library, and serve our residents.  We are looking forward to connecting with our members and the public at our annual meeting as we celebrate together.  If you are wondering how you can you can impact the library and the community where you live, or if you are Friends member, this is the program for you!”
