Do you have a dream? Whether it’s a sleepy dream, a day dream, or a dream of a better world, we’re excited about all dreams this week at the Handley Regional Library System.

If one of your dreams is to read more this year, make sure you sign up for our Winter Reading Challenge too! It’s not too late to get in some dreamy books. Go to our catalog and search for the tag #dreambig, then enjoy the following songs and activities at home.

Dreams (by Patricia Morrison, verse changes by Cheryl)
Sung To: Row, row, row your boat
Dream, dream, dream all night
Dream a happy dream
Laughing, dancing, playing, flying,
Happy, joyful dream

Dream, dream, dream all night
Dream a happy dream
Leaping, soaring, jumping, sliding,
Happy, joyful dream

Martin Luther King Had a Dream (found here)
Sung To: If You’re Happy and You Know it
Martin Luther King had a dream, Yes he did.
Martin Luther King had a dream, Yes he did.
He dreamed we’d live as brothers
Having love for one another
And his dream is still alive through you and me..you and me!

Sleep, Baby, Sleep (Traditional German Lullaby)
Sleep, baby, sleep.
Your father tends the sheep.
Your mother shakes the dreamland tree,
Down falls a little dream for thee.
Sleep, baby, sleep.

Sleep, baby, sleep
Our cottage vale is deep
The little lamb is on the green
With snowy fleece so soft and clean
Sleep, baby, sleep
Sleep, baby, sleep

Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf,
Der Vater hüt die Schaf,
Die Mutter schüttelts Bäumelein,
Da fällt herab ein Träumelein.
Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf!

Five Little Dreams (by Cheryl)
Five little dreams on the dreamland tree,
Floating down, joyful and free.
One for my daddy, one for my mommy.
And one for my sister, brother, and me!
