Counting Thanks Storytime @ HRL

Image removed.

We’re going to count the things we’re thankful for this week at the Handley Regional Library! Come enjoy some great stories and songs at any of our three library branches.

Turkey and Stuffing
(Tune: Where is Thumbkin)
Turkey and stuffing,
Turkey and Stuffing,
Pumpkin pie.
Ten feet high!
We were so much thinner,
Before we ate our dinner.
Me-oh-my!
Me-oh-my!

Turkey Wore His Rainbow Feathers
(Tune of “Mary Wore Her Red Dress”)
Turkey wore his red feather,
red feather, red feather.
Turkey wore his red feather all day long.
(Continue adding color feathers and singing)
Last Verse:
Turkey wore his rainbow feathers, rainbow feathers, rainbow feathers.
Turkey wore his rainbow feathers all day long

If You’re Thankful and You Know It
(Tune: If you’re Happy and You Know It)
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
then your face will surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.

Continue verse with
…stomp your feet.
…shout “I am!”
……..Do all three!

Three Turkey Gobblers
The night before Thanksgiving,
When I had gone to bed,
I heard 3 turkey gobblers,
And this is what they said:
The first turkey said, “I think I’d better go,
And hide behind the haystack,
Where no one will know.”
The second turkey said, “I think I’ll find a tree,
And hide high in the branches,
Where no one will see.”
The third turkey said, “I think it would be fun,
To hide the farmer’s hatchet,
And run, run, run!”
And then on Thanksgiving morning when the farmer came around,
Those three turkey gobblers could not be found.
