SCOPE AND CONTENT: This Wayside Theatre Records contains flyers, brochures, news articles, scrapbooks, and playbills from the early 1960s to 2013, as well as other items associated with the Wayside Theatre in Middletown, Virginia. BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Wayside Theatre was originally known as the Maralarrick Players. It was founded in 1962. One year later, the company was bought by Washington, D.C. financier Leo Bernstein who then changed the name to Wayside Theatre. Many famous actors have performed on stage at the theater, including Susan Sarandon, Stacey Keach, Peter Boyle, and Kathy Bates.  The theater closed on August 7, 2013 after 52 years in business,
