Scope and Content: The G. A. Bowen Records collection contains a Bill Book from 1842, an Invoice Book 1842-43 with an inventory of purchases, and also a Day Book and Ledger dated 1850-51. Location of the business was Norwich, but no state is associated with these materials.

Biographical/Historical: Not available. G. A. Bowen has been researched, but does not appear in records. Research has not proven "Reid and Bowen" and "G. A. Bowen" were located in Frederick County, Va., or in Virginia. The place name of "Norwich" is not local or in Virginia.
