e-Reader worth it? How can I get e-Books loaded onto my device? Are they FREE?
All e-reader workshops are free and open to the public and will be held at the Bowman library (871 Tasker Road, Stephens City, VA 22655). Seating is limited - call to register as soon as possible. To e-read or Not to e-read ? Tuesday June 26 Bowman Library 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thinking about purchasing an e-reader but not sure which one to get or what to look for when purchasing? This work shop will walk you through the features of e-readers and the pros and cons of e-reading. The process of selecting the right e-reader for you will be discussed, including comparisons of popular devices and consumer reports information. The workshop will also briefly cover how to get e-books from the library.
Checking out e-books for your e-readers (not Kindle Fire) Monday, June 25 Bowman Library 6 to 7 p.m.
This workshop will cover how to access the wide variety of e-books available through the Blue Ridge Download Consortium. Workshop attendees will learn how to browse, select, check out and transfer e-books as well as how to use other features such as holds and the Wish List. This workshop is for those who have any e-reader other than the Kindle Fire.
Checking out e-books for your Kindle Fire Friday, June 29 Bowman Library 3 to 4 p.m.
Kindle Fire is a whole new take on the e-reader. Amazon released this upgraded version of their popular Kindle line in November 2011 and it quickly became one of the most popular e-readers available. This workshop will cover how to access the wide variety of e-books available through the Blue Ridge Download Consortium. Workshop attendees will learn how to browse, select, check out and transfer e-books as well as how to use other features such as holds and the Wish List. This workshop will only cover use of the Kindle Fire. |
