Using Census Records in Genealogy
The Stewart Bell Jr. Archives room has microfilmed census records for Frederick County and the lower Shenandoah Valley covering 1810 – 1930. We also have three microfilm reader/printers.

A number of census records are available through Heritage Quest Online. You can access Heritage Quest from a Handley Regional Library (HRL) computer or from home with your HRL library card.
Some census records are also available through Ancestry.Com Library Edition, which you may access at any Handley Regional Library Internet computer.
